Welcome to Episode 23.5, a Scoundrels Special Edition. On this episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, Dennis and Taxus discuss the latest episode of Rebels, "Secret Cargo." However, Dennis has a little surprise in store for Taxus first.

Trivia

So, what is the big surprise? Regular listeners to the Scoundrel Special Editions will no doubt recall that these have featured trivia. Therefore, this episode carries on the tradition. Dennis has a few questions in store for Taxus related to Mon Mothma, Y-Wings, TIE Defenders, and other characters related to "Secret Cargo."

Gold Squadron

After the trivia, the guys get into "Secret Cargo." While waiting to rendezvous with another Rebel cell, Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper wait aboard the Ghost in a debris field. An infiltrator droid unexpectedly arrives, and before they can destroy it, the other Rebels, including Gold Squadron, show up. Gold Squadron was featured in both Rogue One and A New Hope. Therefore, Star Wars fans might expect a certain captain to show up. They won't be disappointed.

The Archeron Nebula and TIE Defenders

Although the infiltrator was destroyed, it managed to alert the Empire, which attacks and disables Gold Squadron’s freighter, forcing them to transfer their secret cargo to the Ghost, which just happens to be Mon Mothma. Although some of Gold Squadron and the Ghost escape, Thrawn correctly deduces the Rebels choice of an old smuggler's route through a nebula. He then dispatches a TIE Defender after them.

Not an Easy Escape

Despite a few additional casualties, Hera and Gold Squadron successfully evade the Imperial pursuers, but are intercepted by Imperial Star Destroyers on the other side of the nebula. Using an old smuggler’s trick, Gold Squadron causes part of the nebula to explode and disable the Imperial ships, allowing the Rebels to escape. Once they arrive at their destination safely, Mon Mothma transmits a speech that summons various Rebel ships together, thereby forming a Rebel fleet.

There is plenty to discuss in this episode. So, join Dennis and Taxus analyze "Secret Cargo." Thanks for listening to Episode 23.5 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Secret Cargo.

Welcome to episode 23 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels. On this episode, Dennis and Taxus discuss current Star Wars news, recent Celebration updates, and the latest episode of Rebels, "Through Imperial Eyes." In addition, the guys have a special announcement. Meanwhile, a certain Dark Lord of the Sith tries his hand at comedy during amateur night at the Outer Rim Club.

Recent Star Wars News

The guys first discuss recent Star Wars news. With the recent passing of a famous Star Wars actor, the need for a replacement arose. Who is the next actor to take over as R2-D2? Next, Lucasfilm recently announced Force Friday II and the packaging for The Last Jedi merchandise. Dennis and Taxus compare this announcement to the original Force Friday and past packaging. In addition, Rogue One arrives soon on Blu Ray. However, one notable feature is missing. Dennis and Taxus discuss the release, the retailer exclusives, and the extras. The news continues with discussion of the Han Solo movie filming and a Rogue One tie-in novel.

Skystalking

It’s getting hot in here… For conventions! Taxus lays out all the Star Wars related celebrity appearances for the month of March. And there’s a special announcement from the guys about Fan Expo Dallas!

Star Wars Celebration Orlando Announcements

After discussing recent news, the guys turn to recent Star Wars Celebration Orlando announcements. To nobody's surprise, Lucasfilm and Reed Pop recently announced a panel featuring Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson. Of course, this should be the panel for The Last Jedi. However, this panel occurs on the Friday of the convention. What does this mean for the opening day? Since the announcement of The Last Jedi panel, Lucasfilm announced the opening day panel, and the guys discuss it as well plus additional announcements.

Through Imperial Eyes

Rebels returns with an Agent Kallus story. After Kallus's cruiser intercepts a transport departing Lothal, he discovers a disguised Rebel aboard. Furthermore, the news this Rebel brings him requires he flee from the Empire. Oh, this episode also features Grand Admiral Thrawn. Of course, this episode intrigues the guys and they are all too pleased to review it.

The Outer Rimshot Comedy Club

What happens when a Dark Lord of the Sith is feeling humorous? He attends amateur night at the Outer Rim Club. Stay tuned to see what happens.

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels if the guys didn't attempt to answer listener feedback in "Silence Fools!" However, what happens when there is no mail? Tune in and find out.

Welcome to another Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on the latest episode from season three of Rebels: "Legacy of Mandalore." After recovering the Darksaber and learning how to use it in the last couple of episodes, Sabine returns with the weapon to Krownest. Can she recruit her family to join the Rebellion?

Trivia

Before Dennis and Taxus get to this episode of Rebels, they decide to get into the Mandalorian spirit with some trivia. Each of the guys compiled some questions for the other. Who is the bigger Mandalorian expert and how will they do?

Return to Krownest

The story begins with Sabine, Ezra, Kanan, Fenn Rau and Chopper arriving at Krownest. However, the Mandalorians greet her by opening fire. Only after revealing herself to be Sabine Wren does do the hostilities cease. "Trials of the Darksaber" revealed why Sabine fled the Mandalorians. This episode reveals how deep Sabine's conflict with her people runs.

Family Feud

Sabine's relationship withe her family complicates her return to Krownest. A deep division with her family emerged when Sabine left the Mandalorians. After all, the Empire employed the weapon Sabine created against Mandalore. While Sabine took refuge with the crew of the Ghost, her family struggled to regain their honor. For example, her brother currently serves Gar Saxon. In addition, Ursa carefully balances loyalty to Gar Saxon with family obligations. Furthermore, Gar Saxon imprisoned Sabine's father. How does Sabine's return impact their struggle?

Sabine's Decision

This episode has repercussions for the rest of the series. For instance, Sabine makes a crucial decision that impacts the crew of the Ghost and her people. What does she decide? Dennis and Taxus this decision and speculate what her decision means for the rest of the season and the series. In addition, Fenn Rau attempts to anoint Sabine as the leader of Mandalore. She refuses. What does this mean? The guys also speculate who might be the future leader of Mandalore.

Bonus Silence Fools!

After the discussion of "Legacy of Mandalore," Dennis, and Taxus conduct a bonus edition of "Silence Fools!" This week, a reader sent his reactions to this episode. The guys attempt to answer his questions.

Thanks for listening to this Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Previously SCubedPod explored Jyn Erso's adventure in Rogue One. Next, Taxus and Dennis turned to the dark side to discuss the Imperial power players behind the Death Star. In episode twenty-two, they examine Cassian Andor the antihero of Rogue One.

Recent News

There is more Star Wars news than usual this week. The guys start an extended news segment by discussing the beginning of filming for the Han Solo movie. Next, it is no surprise that they turn to developments at Disney World concerning the future Star Wars lands. After that, fans nominated a popular actress to play Ahsoka in a live action Star Wars movie. Who was it and what did she think? In comic news, Marvel announced their next crossover event. Who does it feature and what is it about? Plus, there are three other upcoming books to discuss, a Grammy award for John Williams, and speculation about the future of The Clone Wars on Netflix.

Sith Sabers Are Red, Jedi Use Blue

It's Valentine's Day! To celebrate, Darth Taxus collected messages of adoration and love from around the galaxy. Now, Dennis must guess who sent these Star Wars tidings of affection to whom. Can he do it? Or, will Cupid's messages fool him?

Star Wars Celebration Orlando Updates

Up next, as of today, there are 59 days until Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Therefore, it is time to discuss recent Celebration announcements. On StarWarsCelebration.com, Reed Pop and Lucasfilm announced the first three actors to sign autographs at Celebration. Michael Nipp, from The Deucecast Movie Show and Card Trader Illuminerdy joins the show to discuss the news and share some Celebration tips.

Andor the Antihero

Jyn Erso answered the call and became a hero of the Rebellion. Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe stood watch over the Kyber Temple on Jedha before joining Jyn's cause. And, Bodhi Rook sought redemption for his service to the Empire. What about Cassian Andor? Cassian starts Rogue One murdering an informant and immediately establishes himself as a different kind of Rebel. But, what makes him tick and what are his goals? Michael Nipp sticks around as SCubed Pod analyses Andor the antihero.

Listen to The Deucecast Movie Show here.

You can also listen to Cart Trader Illuminerdy here.

Silence Fools

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" This time, a dedicated listener and frequent emailer has a question about Death Troopers. Then, another listener has questions about potential Star Wars plot holes. When listeners have questions, Dennis and Taxus try to find answers. Also, one listener left an iTunes review. The guys always promise to reader their reviews and emails, and therefore, Dennis and Taxus share and respond in Silence Fools!

Another episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrles is here. Even if it is Valentine's Day, we hope you'll join us for our own brand of Star Wars coverage. We're ready for a good time, are you? Once again, thanks for joining us for episode 22 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Feb 7, 2017

Welcome to another Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week is without a new episode of Rebels. However, Dennis and Taxus are still in the mood to talk Star Wars. Therefore, they turn to the comics. Specifically they are looking at the latest offering from Marvel for Darth Maul and Doctor Aphra. These comic reviews contain spoilers.

Trivia

Before Dennis and Taxus get to the comics, there is a little Star Wars trivia. Dennis has some leftover trivia from an appearance he and Taxus made on a recent appearance on another podcast. Therefore, he decides to try it out on Taxus. How will Taxus do?

Darth Maul Unleashed

The guys begin the comic discussion by reviewing issue one of Darth Maul. Set before the events of the The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul is restless. He grows tired hunting beasts, such as rathtars, across the galaxy. However, his master, Darth Sidious, refuses him permission to engage the Jedi. Will Darth Maul be contained? Also, can Darth Maul satisfy his thirst for a challenge elsewhere? Dennis and Taxus contemplate this and more as they discuss Darth Maul #1.

Doctor Aphra

At the conclusion of Darth Vader #25, Doctor Aphra narrowly survived her service to Darth Vader. Through her cleverness, she escaped his clutches. Now, Doctor Aphra strikes out with her droids, Triple Zero and BT-1, and the Wookiee mercenary, Black Krrsantan. However, she already finds herself in debt. To make matters worse, the university suspends her academic credentials. Without those, she cannot sell her archaeological finds. Who is responsible? The guys review the stories and characters of the Doctor Aphra series to date in this discussion.

We are looking forward to the return of Rebels too. However, until it is back, we'll keep ourselves busy with some comics. Why not join us for the discussion? Thanks for listening to this Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Jan 31, 2017

In Episode 20, SCubedPod explored Jyn Erso's role with the Rebellion in Rogue One. But, what about the movie's villains? Never fear, Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels is back to discuss the Imperial power players of Rogue One in episode twenty-one.

Recent News

This week, there is a variety of Star Wars news. The news segment begins with more Star Wars Celebration Orlando announcements. Single and looking for a Star Wars compatible date? Celebration might have your answer. Next, each Celebration has an art show. Last week, StarWarsCelebration.com announced the participating artists. The guys discuss some of the artists that will be there. Rogue One continues its climb up the all-time box office charts. Which milestone did it recently reach? The final news story concerns the Oscars. Rogue One received some nominations. Dennis and Taxus discuss the nominations and the competition for Rogue One.

Skystalking

Up next, February is nearly upon us. Therefore, it is time for another edition of Skystalking. Darth Taxus has tracked down all the Star Wars celebrity appearances for February. Although the schedule is light for February, there are some celebrities to find. Now is a good time to track down your favorite Star Wars artists.

Episode VIII Title

In an unexpected announcement last week, Lucasfilm released the title of Episode VIII. It is The Last Jedi. Tim McMahon from the Less than Twelve Parsecs podcast joins Dennis and Darth Taxus to discuss the title for the film. What does this title foreshadow if anything? Who is the "last Jedi?" Also, is that one Jedi, or more?

Imperial Power Players

Next, the guys move on to the second segment of the Hyperthetical. In the last episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, the guys discussed Jyn Erso. This time, they give the Imperials their due. Specifically, they discuss Grand Moff Tarkin and Director Krennic. After all, these were the two Imperial power players of the movie. Accompanied by Tim McMahon, they discuss why these two were rivals. Despite their similar backgrounds, they hated each other. What, if any future would Krennic have had if he had survived the Battle of Scarif? Could he have lead a coup against Tarkin?

Listen to Tim's show, Less than Twelve Parsecs, the Fastest Podcast in the Galaxy! here.

You can also find Tim on The Expanded Comicverse with Allen Voivod. Listen here.

Silence Fools

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" This time, a dedicated listener and frequent emailer has an update about raising his children to watch Star Wars. Therefore, Dennis and Taxus talk a little about introducing their children to the saga.

Another episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrles is here. Even if Taxus doesn't quite grasp the significance of twenty-one episodes, the guys have a good time as always. Once again, thanks for joining us for this episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Jan 24, 2017

Welcome to another Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on the latest episode from season three of Rebels: "Trials of the Darksaber." Kanan finally reveals the recovery of the Darksaber to Fenn Rau. Now, they must convince Sabine to wield the weapon and unite the Mandalorians behind her. This is a somewhat in-depth review that contains spoilers.

Sabine's Past

The guys begin the discussion by reviewing Sabine's past. Once pressed while training, Sabine is overcome by emotion as she spars with Kanan. What does she reveal about her family? Also, does this explain why she is so connected to the crew of the Ghost? With the revelations of this episode, can she unite the people of Mandalore?

Kanan the Teacher

Training a student is hardly a new concept to Kanan. After all, he trained Ezra since season one. However, he has difficulty with training Sabine. Why is this and what is the difference between training Ezra and Sabine? Also, what does Hera contribute to his breakthrough?

Ezra's Role

As usual, we discuss the development of the crew. This episode provides a multiple opportunities for that discussion. For example, Ezra takes an active role in Sabine's saber training. Another topic of conversation is Ezra's sibling rivalry with Sabine. Also, Ezra helps Sabine come to a realization about family. What is it he said? Was it effective? In addition, Hera contributes to Sabine's training from afar.

Bonus Silence Fools!

After the discussion of "Trials of the Darksaber", Dennis, and Taxus conduct another bonus edition of "Silence Fools!" to answer an email related to last week's episode "Warhead."

Jan 17, 2017

The Star Wars community is still abuzz with Rogue One discussion. But, what about the movie's heroine? Ergo Jyn Erso. Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels is back to discuss everyone's favorite rebelling Rebel.

Recent News

This week, there is a variety of Star Wars news. Finally, the saga of the location of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is over. What city will the museum call home? Also, Walt Diseny World jumps in on the Star Wars Celebration Orlando festivities. What does the happiest place on Earth have in store? Next, Disney announced updates for Star Tours. What additions are coming to the Disney Hollywood Studios attraction? The final news story concerns casting for the upcoming Han Solo movie. Dennis and Taxus discuss the latest addition to the cast.

Ergo Jyn Erso

Up next, the guys turn to Rogue One. Despite the bountiful discussion of the movie, its heroine receives comparatively little attention. Therefore, the guys invited Jay Krebs to join them and discuss all things Jyn Erso. Early descriptions of Jyn compared her to Joan of Arc. Does she live up to that legacy? In addition, how does she carry the spirit of the Rebellion? Also, would the Rebellion survive without her actions in Rogue One?

Jay Krebs' blogs can be found here. Also, check out her "Core Worlds Couture" column.

Silence Fools

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" This time, a listener has a question concerning a detail he noticed on Imperial and Rebel uniforms. Therefore, Dennis and Taxus did a little research and come back with the answer.

Another year of Star Wars is rolling along. SCubedPod keeps rolling with it. Therefore, we hope you'll stay on a Star Wars roll with us. Once again, thanks for joining us for episode twenty of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Jan 10, 2017

Welcome to another Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on the latest two-part episode of season three of Rebels: "Ghosts of Geonosis." When a Rebel recon team fails to report back to the Alliance, Hera and the crew of the Ghost are sent to investigate. Their journey takes them to Geonosis to investigate the eradication of the Geonosians. During their mission, they encounter Saw Gerrera from The Clone Wars and Rogue One. This is a somewhat in-depth review that contains spoilers.

Saw Gerrera

First, the guys address the inclusion of Saw Gerrera. Darth Taxus recently discovered a possible connection between the events of Rebels and Rogue One. Does the episode clarify that connection? Also, the Rebellion had disavowed Saw by the time of Rogue One. Does this episode explain why that is? Might Saw Gerrera return in a future episode of Rebels?

The Geonosians and the Death Star

In "The Honorable Ones," from season two, the crew of the Ghost arrived at Geonosis to find traces of an Imperial construction project. Does this episode offer any clues as to what the Empire was up to? What else, if anything, does this episode tell viewers about the Empire's secret battle station?

Also, Hera and company discovered that Geonosis was deserted last season. A lone Geonosian remains. What clues can he offer the Rebellion as to the fate of his species? In addition, this Geonosian safeguards a precious treasure. Does this plot element relate to anything readers of Marvel's comics may have seen before? We'll discuss.

The Crew of the Ghost

In each Scoundrels Special Edition, we discuss the development of the crew. As expected, this episode is no different. The recent mid-season trailer promised big things for Sabine. What do they mean for Sabine, the Mandalorians, and Rebels going forward? Another topic of conversation is Ezra's reaction to Saw Gerrera. Ezra continues to develop this season, and this episode advances his relationship to the Rebellion and the Force.

Bonus Silence Fools!

After the discussion of "Ghosts of Geonosis", Dennis, and Taxus conduct a bonus edition of "Silence Fools!" to answer an email related to this episode. Finally, the guys will discuss other things to come in the second half of this season of Rebels as previewed in the mid-season trailer.

Taxus has a potential plot hole to discuss as well. This is just the beginning, Scoundrels. More Rogue One discussion is coming in future episodes.

Silence Fools!

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" However, this time, there was no new listener feedback. Alas, Dennis found some new relevant information relating to a previous email to the show. And, there might be a few more surprises in store for the final show of 2016. Might Vader Claus make Taxus's dreams come true and Dennis's nightmares come to life? You will just have to download and listen to find out.

Starships Sabers and Scoundrels #17.5: Visions and Voices

Welcome to another Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on the last episode of season three of Rebels before the winter break: "Visions and Voices." As a special bonus, Johnamarie Macias from The Wookiee Gunner joins the guys for this episode. When Ezra begins experiencing visions of Darth Maul, he and Kanan visit the Bendu. However, their consultation with Bendu is interrupted by Maul himself. After coercion by Maul, Ezra accompanies the former Sith to Dathomir for an old Nightsister ritual designed to complete the visions they experienced when the holocrons were merged earlier this season. This is a somewhat in-depth review that contains spoilers.

Ezra and Maul

First, the guys and Johnamarie discuss Ezra's relationship with Maul. What does Ezra hope to achieve by working with Maul? How does he think of Maul? Conversely, what does Maul see in Ezra that makes him desirable as an apprentice?

Next, what do Ezra and Maul's visions mean? Both Ezra and Maul desired to learn more about the visions from the holocrons. Unfortunately, neither of their visions were complete or understandable. What do they learn in this episode and what does it mean for the future? Also, what does "hope" mean to Maul?

The Cave on Dathomir

In addition, Maul's cave on Dathomir was full of artifacts. Some of these artifacts were relevant to Sabine and the Mandalorians. What do they mean for Sabine, the Mandalorians, and Rebels going forward?

After the discussion of "Visions and Voices", Dennis, Taxus, and Johnamarie reflect on the first part of this season of Rebels. Each share their favorite moments and episodes. Finally, they look forward. What do they hope and expect to see in the second half of this season? There is so much to look forward to.

This time, a listener wants to know what is up with Artoo's rockets. The guys discuss this and another message strikes a nerve with Taxus.

Rogue One is almost here! Everyone is excited, and the wait seems unbearable. Therefore, we suggest you pass some of the wait with us. Once again, thanks for joining us for episode seventeen of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Welcome to another episode of Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on episode seven of season three of Rebels: "The Wynkahthu Job." Hera reluctantly agrees to allow the crew of the Ghost to assist Hondo salvage an Imperial cargo ship in orbit around Wynkahthu. However, he concerns grow when she discovers Azmorigan, the vile gangster, is involved. When Chopper activates the ships power, the ship's sentries activate. Then things go from bad to worse as the droids attack. This is a somewhat in-depth review that contains spoilers.

First, Dennis and Taxus discuss the sentry droids. Dark Forces fans might recognize these droids. Did the classic video game inspire the droids of this episode? In addition, are these Legends droids worthy representatives in the new canon?

Next, how does Ezra Bridger handle a perceived slight from Hera? In early episodes from this season, Ezra struggled with the influence of the dark side. However, in recent episodes, he appears to have overcome that temptation. Is he resentful that Zeb was put in charge of the salvage operation? Will this cause a rift in the team? Or, is this just a distraction for this episode?

In addition, why are the Rebels pursuing proton bombs? This isn't the first episode where the Rebels tried to acquire these bombs. Are they part of a larger plan? Will viewers see them again?

After that discussion, Hondo may be a fan favorite, but is he used well in this episode? Has he contributed to Rebels in a meaningful way? What does the future hold for him.

Finally, each of the guys share some of their favorite moments from the episode. Azmorigan is a presence in this episode, and he has at least one comedic line.  Dennis and Taxus discuss this and more.

Thanks for listening to this Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

The march to Rogue One continues. The movie is less than a month away. In addition, Revenge is said to be a dish best served cold, and this week, the guys are serving a little revenge for Thanksgiving. Therefore, on episode sixteen of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, we take a look at what Revenge of the Sith means for Rogue One.

There are plenty of developments in this week's news. First, Dennis and Taxus Two discuss the Rogue One 360 experience released by Verizon. What do the guys think? Next, Lucasfilm released a new behind the scenes featurette for Rogue One. What, if anything, was revealed about the making of the new movie? Third, Rogue One: Catalyst was released this past week. Dennis and Taxus offer their early impressions of the new Rogue One tie in novel. Finally, Marvel announced a new miniseries featuring a fan favorite Sith Lord. Who is it and when does it debut? Hint: he has horns and tattoos. Tune in and find out.

Up next, Darth Taxus recently had the opportunity to attend Dallas Fan Days. Although this convention was light on Star Wars, there were still elements from the galaxy far, far away to be found. Taxus shares some interviews in this week's show.

Rogue One may be a prequel to A New Hope, but is also the sequel to Revenge of the Sith. What if anything does Revenge of the Sith prepare audiences for in Rogue One? Dennis and Taxus discuss in part two of this week's Hyperthetical.

Another episode of Rebels aired this past weekend. RetroZap.com's Courtney Martin stops by to talk "Iron Squadron" with the guys. Can three kids take on the Empire by themselves? Or, does Ezra have to lean on his experience to provide guidance to these young freedom fighters?

Our favorite Wookiee and frequent "guest" returns to debut a new culinary adventure. Somehow, Dennis was persuaded to go along with this. Will he regret it?

As usual, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" This time, a loyal listener shares thoughts on the recent Ahsoka novel, and Dennis and Taxus react.

Have a great Thanksgiving! We are thankful that all of you have joined us for sixteen episodes so far. Once again, thanks for joining us for episode sixteen of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

With Rogue One only weeks away, now is the perfect time to talk super weapons in the galaxy far, far away. After all, what is Star Wars without a technological terror or two or three? What makes a good super weapon?

Before the guys can talk super weapons, Dennis and Taxus bring up some recent Star Wars news. First, the saga of George Lucas's Museum of Narrative Art continues. Two sites are under consideration and designs for each site have been released. What do the guys think? Next, it is no secret that Battlefront has a sequel in development. Recent comments by Electronic Arts point to a release date. When is it? Third, another entity recently acquired THX, the audio system pioneered by George Lucas in 1983. What does this mean for cinematic sound if anything?

Up next, it is election day in the United States. Up for a little political discussion? No? How about some political debate Darth Taxus style? The Most Interesting Sith in the Galaxy has something special in store for you.

After politics, the guys examine some of the super weapons of Star Wars. Whether it is cannon or Legends, Star Wars has always felt the influence of technological terrors. Some of them are impressive. Others are over the top, and not necessarily in a good way. Dennis and Taxus discuss some of their favorites and some of the more ridiculous entries.

Another episode of Rebels aired this past weekend. Therefore, Dennis and Taxus discuss "Super Commandos." Sabine and Ezra escort Fenn Rau to Mandalore to find trouble with the Mandalorians. How will they get out of this mess? In addition, what does this episode teach about Sabine and her past?

As usual, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!"

Thanks for joining us for episode fifteen of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

Welcome to another episode of Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships Sabers and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on episode six of season three of Rebels: "The Last Battle." When Rex leads Kanan, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper to Agamar to salvage weapons, they find more than they bargained for. A tactical droid there prevented the droids under his command from deactivating at the conclusion of the Clone Wars. Now, he seeks to settle which side would have won once and for all as he compels Rex, Ezra, and Kanan to engage in a war game. This is a somewhat in-depth review that contains spoilers.

First, Dennis and Taxus discuss Rex's resolution with the ending of the Clone Wars. Audiences saw in season two how he shepherded fellow Clone Wars veterans. Those veterans wrestled with inner demons. What about Rex? Does this episode show a crack in his otherwise strong facade?

Next, has Ezra Bridger overcome his dark side temptations? In early episodes from this season, Ezra looked to the dark side to supplement his powers. He desired to save his friends. However, in recent episodes, he appears to have overcome that temptation. Will he be tempted again? Or, is this phase of path of the Force behind him?

In addition, what is to be made of Ezra's revelation concerning the conclusion of the Clone Wars? How is it that he seems to be the only one that ever asked why the Clone Wars ended and who won? Is he prophetic? Was his ability to bridge the divide between Rex and the tactical droid a developing talent? Dennis and Taxus discuss Ezra's ability to reach the middle ground that a galaxy full of senators, Jedi, and droids could not.

Finally, each of the guys share some of their favorite moments from the episode. Remember the scene where the battle droids confront the stormtroopers? How about Kanan's answer to the tactical droid's question about Ezra? Dennis and Taxus discuss these and more.

Thanks for listening to this Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels.

In addition, a family heirloom was lost as well. Hera decides to undertake a mission to get it back. Will she be successful? And, how does this episode rate with the guys?

Next, the spectacular Darth Vader series from Marvel reached its conclusion with issue twenty-five. There are many plot lines to resolve in this issue. Episode 13.5 is the source for Dennis and Taxus's take on this incredible series.

Finally, Lucasfilm released a new trailer for Rogue One last week. Listeners have likely heard trailer analysis elsewhere, so Dennis and Taxus focus on their favorite parts of the last official trailer for the upcoming film.

Another episode of Rebels aired this past Saturday. The guys engage in a spoiler-filled conversation concerning "The Antilles Extraction." Who is the new Fulcrum? How does Antilles get sprung from the Imperial Academy? And, finally, is a defection on the horizon?

As usual, it wouldn't be a episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, if the guys didn't address some listener feedback. Of course, this means there is another edition of "Silence Fools!" However, that might not be all. Darth Taxus has something he needs to rant about.

Welcome to this Scoundrels Special Edition of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels. This week, SCubedPod focuses on episode two of season three of Rebels: "The Holocrons of Fate." This is an in depth review that contains spoilers.

Next, an old nemesis returns. Darth Maul kidnaps the rest of the crew of the Ghost. What are his intentions? Of course, the heroes aren't helpless. When Hera, Zeb, Sabine, and Chopper decide to fight back, they catch Maul unaware. However, their advantage doesn't last.

Finally, Maul gets what he wants. After receiving Maul's demands, Kanan and Ezra retrieve the bounty. The Bendu warned Ezra and Kanan about what they plan to do. What they plan to do won't be spoiled here, but the results have the potential to shape the story of Rebels forever.
