Welcome to episode 28 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels. On this episode, Dennis and Darth Taxus begin the celebration of the first Scoundrelversary. What is a Scoundrelversary you ask? Good question. Naturally, this is the celebration of the first anniversary of the podcast. So, get ready for episode 28: The First Scoundrelversary.

Recent Star Wars News

As always, the guys discuss recent Star Wars news. Even though the Star Wars news came at a trickle this past week, a few stories emerged. Event though The Last Jedi arrives this December, Episode IX has a release date. The guys discuss. Despite the popularity of Ahsoka Tano, another character won the fan poll for Hasbro's new Black Series Vintage line. Find out who in this episode. Plus, Rian Johnson made a big request of J.J. Abrams for the end of The Force Awakens. The guys discuss what it was and what it might mean in the news segment.

Behind the Actor's Trailer

After discussing recent news, Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels debuts the backstory to one of the breakout characters of Rogue One. By breakout character, the guys mean none of the characters played by Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Forest Whitaker, or Jiang Wen. In fact, it also means no characters played by Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Jimmy Smits, or Genevieve O'Reilly. It isn't Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, or Princess Leia either. Find out just who they are talking about in episode 28.

The First 40 Years of Star Wars

It doesn't seem possible, but the guys are celebrating one year of podcasting. Although they may differ on how exactly the show got started, both Dennis and Taxus are excited to celebrate. And, what better way to celebrate a podcast with an anniversary this time of year than reflecting on the first forty years of Star Wars? The guys discuss their favorite fandom moments, video game experiences, saber duels, and more. In addition, friends from other podcasts and listeners alike share their favorite moments and memories.

Silence Fools!

Finally, it wouldn't be an episode of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels without some listener feedback in "Silence Fools!" Taxus has to warm up this time as the Scoundrels sent a record number of emails this week. From favorite fandom moments to first time Rogue One viewing experiences, plus Rebels predictions and anniversary wishes, this is one packed edition of Silence Fools!

Thanks to all our Scoundrels for making our first year of podcasting such a success and thanks for listening to episode 28 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: The Scoundrelversary.
