Welcome to episode 76.1 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: No Escape: Part 2. On this episode, the Jay, Dennis, and Darth Taxus are discussing the final episode of season one of Resitance. Kaz and Torra just witnessed the destruction of Hosnian Prime and the Republic with it. Now, they must put aside their grief and rescue their friends while the First Order hunts them down. Saving the Colossus will take everything Kaz, Torra, Yeager, and Neeku have and then some.

No Escape: Part 2

On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus discuss the following:

  • Tam's ultimate decision and whether they agree or understand it,
  • The design of Colossus and the clues throughout the season as to it's identity,
  • The return of Kragan, Saynara, and the pirates and whether enough of an explanation for their role was provided,
  • The final battle as Kaz and his friends make their desperate escape from the First Order, and
  • The first season of Resistance in its entirety and how it evolved.

The Scoundrels enjoyed covering Resistance during its debut season. It is a little bittersweet that this is the last Resistance review of the season, but the Scoundrels enjoyed having it. Thanks for joining us for our reviews this season and episode 76.1 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: No Escape Part 2 in particular. Welcome to episode 74 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Lightsaber Duels Part 2. The Scoundrels have their work cut out for them as they determine the best lightsaber duel from the Star Wars movies. However, there is news to get to first.

Star Wars News

Most of this week's news focuses on Star Wars Celebration Chicago. The Scoundrels discuss:

  • The first announcement of additional guests for Celebration that includes Ahsoka Tano herself, Ashley Eckstein,
  • A second round of guests for Celebration that includes the original wookiee and everyone's favorite twi-lek,
  • A third round of guests for Celebration as foretold by a dark disturbance in the Force, and
  • The potential for K-2SO to show up in the Cassian Andor series that is in development.

The Lightsaber Duels - Part 2

Once the news is done, the Scoundrels return to their lightsaber bracket. Episode 73 saw the conclusion of the first round. In comparison to the decisions in episode 74, those were easy. The Scoundrels start by finding the best lightsaber duel from each trilogy and then conclude with naming a champion. There is plenty of discussion and debate on this episode, and picking the best lightsber duel isn't easy.

Silence Fools!

Episode 74 ends with another edition of "Silence Fools!" In this edition, the Scoundrels:

  • Respond to feedback from their page on the RetroZap Discord server,
  • Discuss the results of the last Twitter poll from episode 73, and
  • Propose a new poll for episode 74.

Thanks for joining us for episode 74 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Lightsaber Duels - Part 2. This was a fun discussion, and the Scoundrels hope you enjoy it and will consider subscribing to the show wherever you listen to podcasts.

On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus look back to their initial impressions of the Force after the release of A New Hope.  Before they get to the news, the Scoundrels discuss the potential for the Russos to direct a movie and Dennis reports on the John Williams Christmas concert at the Dallas Symphony.

Star Wars in the News

It was a busy week for Star Wars news. The Scoundrels discussing casting and production news for the live action Star Wars television series. Also, they discuss additional guest announcements for Star Wars Celebration Chicago. In addition, the news includes discussion of a new Darth Vader comic and a new Thrawn novel. Finally, the news concludes with a discussion of Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures.

The Force Begins

An episode of Galaxy of Adventures features Luke receiving Anakin's lightsaber. However, the animation of that scene is far different than the scene presented in A New Hope. This got the Scoundrels thinking, "what were our early impressions of the Force 40 years ago?" In this week's "Hyperthetical," they look back on the presentation and introduction of the Force to movie audiences from A New Hope.

Silence Fools!

As with every episode, episode 69 ends with another edition of "Silence Fools!" For listeners new to Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels, "Silence Fools!" is the feedback and listener participation segment of this show. On this week's show, they Scoundrels answer a listener email and discuss whether Obi-Wan should have done more to counter Palpatine's influence of Anakin.

elcome to episode 68.2 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Secrets and Holograms. On this episode, Dennis, Jay, and Darth Taxus take a look at the discoveries Kaz makes while spying on Captain Doza. However, those discoveries are set against a backdrop of adventure with the captain's daughter: Torra Doza.

Secrets and Holograms

"Secrets and Holograms" begins with Torra Doza lamenting her boredom in her bedroom. After confronting her father about his dealings with the First Order, she decides to sneak out. Very quickly, she bumps (literally) into Kaz and BB-8. Although Kaz tags along for her trip to the market, he is really interested in spying on Torra's father.

On this episode, the Scoundrels discuss Kaz's continuing evolution as a spy. Plus, when presented with a straightforward question about whether he is a spy, Kaz answers with a poor excuse for a lie. Does he have a day of reckoning coming? In addition, the First Order is making a move on Colossus. What will the results be.

Thanks for tuning into episode 68.1 of Starships, Sabers, and Scoundrels: Secrets and Holograms. We hope you enjoyed this discussion of the latest episode of Resistance.
